Russian protests worldwide
Since February 24th, Russians around the world have been protesting against the war in Ukraine.
Every week, anti-war rallies organized by Russians take place across the world, from Melbourne to Los Angeles. Almost everywhere: it's hard to imagine something like that happening in Moscow. In the Russian capital, no protests are allowed, even holding up an empty sheet of paper is now a criminal act.
"I was hurt. I wanted to show that not everyone is like that, not everyone wants to attack and kill <...>" - says Vitaly Demchenko, who has been living in Stockholm for the last 20 years.
In London, regular anti-war rallies happen every week, and larger rallies - almost every month, are attended by hundreds of people. They feature famous Russians living in London, as well as local activists and politicians.
