Russian Democratic Society is a community of Russian immigrants in the UK. We unite like-minded individuals, groups and organisations in shaping a democratic future for Russia. We empower people to push ideas forward by facilitating horizontal connections for all.

As Russia descends into chaos, we strive to build a coalition of ordinary people ready to collaborate and contribute to Russia's social, economic, and political future. Our call to action is to lead Russia to a legitimate system of democratic governance. This is our constitutional right.

TAKE ACTION

Following the recent heartbreaking news about the death of Alexei Navalny, our community is extremely concerned about the lives of other prominent opponents of Putin's regime, who are currently political prisoners. Please consider writing to your MP to urge them to raise the question of Mr. Kara-Murza in Parliament.

Contact your MP to urge the UK government to refuse to recognize the results of the presidential elections in Russia

Российские антивоенные демократические силы проводят протесты по всему миру. Цель марафона — показать, что у Путина нет поддержки большинства. Это миф, созданный пропагандой. Большая часть российского общества не признает его легитимным президентом и выступает категорически против войны в Украине.

Declarations we signed

  • Open Letter in Support of LGBTQ+ People. In light of the Russian State Duma's first reading of a bill that bans transgender transitioning, the LGBTQ+ community in Russia has published a letter in support of LGBTQ+ individuals. RDS joins over 1,000 LGBTQ+ activists and allies who have signed the letter.

  • Declaration of Russian Democratic Forces. This signature is for us - an acknowledgment of the need to unite for a common goal. The declaration calls things by their names. The war against Ukraine is criminal, the current Russian political regime is illegitimate, imperialism is unacceptable, and political persecution and forced displacement of Ukrainian citizens must be stopped.
