On June 11, nine organisations linked to Russian diasporas signed a memorandum establishing the Democratic Alliance of Russians Abroad (DARA).
Over the past several years, we have supported Ukraine, stood by political prisoners, organised joint campaigns, fought propaganda, and simply helped one another across different countries. Many of us first met through this work.
Today, we have taken the next step by signing this memorandum. It sets out the Alliance's core values: freedom, the rule of law, peace, democracy, and solidarity —with one another, with Ukraine, and with the victims of the Russian regime. Our priorities include representing the interests of democratic Russians internationally, supporting Ukraine and the victims of Russian aggression, assisting political prisoners, countering propaganda, and developing educational and cultural initiatives within the Russian émigré community.
The next stage is to develop the Alliance's structure, participation rules, and shared projects. We invite other democratic organisations, grassroots initiatives, and communities of Russians abroad to join us in this effort. If you share the values of freedom, democracy, peace, and solidarity, we would be honoured to build this project together.
